Here are the instructions for submitting the assignment
Select http://polya.computing.dcu.ie/moodle/ and log in. You will need your DCU username and your password.
Go to the assignment page for this week.
Read the assignment specification.
When you have done the assignment, you should upload any required files for the assignment.
For some assignments, you may submit in pairs. However, your partner must be new. I.e. you may not reuse a partner from a previous assignment. I.e.e. if you have worked with someone on an assignment in the past, you may not work with them again for a future assignment.
If you are submitting in pairs, then one partner should submit the source files (i.e. the .java files), and both partners must submit a file called pair.txt that contains two lines, the first line should contain the student ID and name of the first partner and the second line should contain the student ID and name of the second partner. An example pair.txt file would look like
5512345 Joe student 5554321 Jane student
To summarize, if you are doing the assignment in pairs, then both students submit a file called pair.txt and one student submits the source files. If you do this incorrectly, then one or both students will lose marks.
There are bonus marks if you submit an assignment a day or two early.
5% is added to your mark if your assignment is submitted one day early.
10% is added to your mark if your assignment is submitted two days early.
These bonuses mean that you can get more than 100% for an assignment. Note that the bonus is applied at the end of the semester. Note 2: a day means 24 hours.
This section is not relevant to most students, but every year a number of students copy assignments. And every year they get caught. These students complain that they weren't warned about the problems of copying. So this is the official warning. Should you be tempted to copy, please first check our section on copying.
Don't say you weren't warned!
