Introductory Lab: Linux

Although CA165 is a programming course, this first lab is not about programming, it is about Linux - an Operating System. During the lab you will learn:

  1. to boot into Linux from the DCU computers.
  2. to log on to the computer.
  3. to browse the computer.
  4. to use the terminal.

Linux is a standard operating system and comes with many programs that are similar to those you might be used to from windows. You should experiment so that you are familiar and productive in Linux.
